Package tours sold by Royal Turkish Travel are subject to Turkish consumer law (Law No. 6502) and the Package Tour Contracts Regulation. Before you pay anything, you receive a written quote that sets out the itinerary, hotels (or hotel category), included and excluded services, group size conditions and the total price. That written document, once you confirm it, forms the basis of your package tour contract — nothing is charged before you have it in writing.
Under Article 12 of Law No. 1618, A-Group agencies organising package tours must carry compulsory package tour insurance for the benefit of their customers. This insurance protects you if the agency fails to perform the contracted services or cannot commence the tour, up to the coverage limits set by Turkish law. Details of the applicable policy are provided together with your package tour contract.
The mandatory insurance is not a substitute for personal travel, health or baggage insurance, which remains your responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing — we are happy to assist on request.
Where third-party providers (airlines, hotels, transport) apply stricter conditions — for example non-refundable domestic flight fares — those conditions may prevail. Any stricter condition affecting your tour is stated in your written quote.
Within the framework of the Package Tour Contracts Regulation, you may transfer your place on a package tour to a person who meets the tour's conditions by notifying us in writing in reasonable time before departure; costs arising from the transfer (e.g. name changes on flight tickets) are borne by the transferring parties. If we must make a material change to your tour before departure, you will be informed without delay and may accept the change or withdraw in line with the Regulation.
